On Thursday the 8th of march we, Popcultuur Wageningen, will host the very first edition of our new monthly returning event called Indiepub! In which two indiebands will perform at one of the many pubs in Wageningen.
For the first Indiepub there will be performances by You Should Get To Know Us and Foxlane. This edition will be held at Café Loburg and will start at 22:00 but feel free to come early and enjoy a few drinks. Entry will be free
You Should Get To Know Us
You Should Get To Know Us plays songs. Catchy and, when necessary, loud. The bands successful integration of 90s slacker mentality with 21th century efficiency has already resulted in the release of debut EP Faceland and plenty of live shows.
Sounds like: classical powerpop of Big Star and Fountains of Wayne with a psychedelic slacker vibe that is reminiscent of The Dandy Warhols and Happyness. Often performed very loudly like Dinosaur Jr.
Foxlane
Indie band Foxlane (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) started after Norman kicked Joris in the face during fight practice. Together with hazey guitarist Chris and singer Guus, they created an authentic sound influenced by bands like Foals and The Growlers: nuanced on the recording, explosive live.
The band released their self-recorded debut EP “All Quite Good Now” in November 2017. Since then, their single “Birmingham” has had over 200.000 plays worldwide.
